Google Plus sends first tweet 4 years after starting Twitter account

Nearly four years after it created a Twitter account, Google Plus has finally sent out its first tweet.

According to its Twitter profile, the sluggish social network created an account (@GooglePlus) in July 2011 but just tweeted on Friday the following:

Hello Twitterverse! Can we get some love for our #firstTweet?

It's peculiar timing on Google Plus's part, not just because Google Plus launched in June 2011 (read: a long, long time ago) but also because Google said in March it would dismantle the service into two separate products: streams and photos. Read more...
