Chinese game developer Seasun Entertainment has announced the establishment of its U.S. subsidiary, Seasun Games, in San Mateo, Calif. The company’s U.S. expansion will see Seasun focusing on mobile game development and publishing, in addition to investing in small and medium-sized game studios around the world.
As part of this expansion, Seasun Games will release Relics of Gods, a turn-based MOBA, on mobile in North America and Europe. Relics of Gods will offer three-on-three battles, allowing players to choose three heroes to lead into combat. Players will have dozens of champions to choose from across multiple races and classes, and will utilize a series of different skills, attacks and \"divine blessings\" to defeat their enemies.
Relics of Gods is backed by over three years of development and an overall investment of more than $20 million. The game’s music is being produced by Mark Griskey, who has composed music for games including Marvel Heroes, as well as several titles for Disney. Meanwhile, the game’s artwork is being directed by James Zhang, who previously worked on World of Warcraft and Supercell’s mega mobile hit Clash of Clans.
In a statement, Tao Zou, CEO of Seasun Entertainment, commented on the U.S. expansion:
The U.S. is one of the top gaming markets and its long-lasting game culture is critical for us to break into as we expand into the global markets. We are committed to long-term development within the U.S. market, and plan to establish a research and development team as well as attract top-notch talent to achieve our ultimate goal—providing the best quality and most exciting games to the players all around the world.
Relics of Gods is expected to release on iOS this summer. The game is also in development for Android, PC and Mac, with release planned for North America first, and European markets shortly thereafter.
