Glu Mobile has announced another partnership for its growing lineup of celebrity mobile games. This time, it’s musician Britney Spears who will lend her likeness, voice and creative influence to an upcoming mobile game. Glu’s exclusive agreement with Spears will last at least five years, with the possibility of a three-year extension.
Glu has signed multiple celebrity partnerships already in 2015, mostly likely sparked by the massive success of Kim Kardashian: Hollywood (pictured), which released on mobile devices in summer 2014. In early February 2015, Glu announced its partnership with Katy Perry, while a partnership with Kendall and Kylie Jenner was announced in March.
In a statement, Glu Mobile CEO Niccolo de Masi commented on the partnership:
I am thrilled to add Grammy Award-winning legend Britney Spears to Glu’s growing list of partners as we continue to expand our celebrity gaming platform. We anticipate the title resonating tremendously with Ms. Spears’ nearly 90 million multi-generational social followers around the world.
That impressive total of 90 million followers was determined by combining Spears’ social media followers on Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, Vevo and Vine, with admitted fan overlap between some channels.
Additional details surrounding the Britney Spears mobile game, and Spears’ personal involvement with the title, will be revealed at a later date. Check back soon for more.
