Line launched egg, its selfie application, on iOS and Android. The app is similar to MSQRD and Snapchat in that it lets users add filters and special effects to photos and videos that can be shared with friends.
With egg, users can browse a variety of 3-D masks, which are applied to their faces in real-time. Some masks may include special effects that users can trigger by performing certain actions, such as blinking or opening their mouths.
Users can also create their own masks by uploading pictures from their devices or taking pictures of their own face or faces around them. When users apply one of their created masks, they can combine the mask with a special effect.
Finally, the app allows users to swap faces with other users on the screen in real-time.
egg includes buttons for sharing content to Line, Facebook and Instagram, and users can also save content to their devices to share on other platforms.
The egg app is available to download for free on the iTunes App Store and Google Play.
