Appeals Court Rejects Paul Ceglia’s Attempt to Revive Suit vs. Facebook, Zuckerberg

PaulCeglia650No one knows where self-proclaimed Facebook co-owner Paul Ceglia is, yet he still managed to suffer another court setback.

Reuters reported that the Second U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals rejected Ceglia’s attempt to revive the civil lawsuit he filed in 2010 against Facebook and its co-founder and CEO, Mark Zuckerberg, claiming that he possessed a 2003 contract that awarded him one-half of Facebook.

That contract was found to be altered and fraudulent, and Ceglia faces a trial on mail fraud and wire fraud charges.

However, with that trial set to begin May 4, Ceglia’s whereabouts remain a mystery, as he escaped monitoring by the U.S. Marshals Service last month by disconnecting his electronic ankle bracelet and attaching it to a \"hand-made contraption\" that simulated movement.

The Second U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals said in Monday’s ruling, as reported by Reuters, that Facebook and Zuckerberg \"established by clear and convincing evidence\" that the contract produced by Ceglia was a forgery, and that Ceglia failed to make a \"clear showing\" that the criminal case against him should be dismissed.
