Disruptor Beam has announced the release of the second major content expansion for Game of Thrones Ascent. Entitled Fire & Blood, the expansion allows players to grow their dragons into adolescents, and also complete new Tales via an interactive map. These Tales are side activities, offering players various rewards for completion.
Disruptor Beam says these Tales have been designed to compliment the rest of the game, and give players something else to do while waiting for their other items to complete. During Tales, gamers lead a party of five Sworn Swords, and assign them to challenges. Each Tale has five challenges, which increase in difficulty as players progress, and each challenge is further broken into three individual stages.
If players successfully complete a challenge, they receive rewards and renown, with renown being the new \"points\" of the Tales system. The more renown players earn, the higher they rank on the new Tales-specific leaderboards. This renown resets after a Tale is complete.
Meanwhile, players also earn Tales Keepsakes while playing. These are tokens that remain even after completing Tales, and can be turned in at the new Great Hall for rewards.
After each challenge, players are presented with a choice of either taking their rewards and ending the Tale, or pushing on for a chance to earn better rewards in the next challenge, while risking losing what they’ve already earned.
As for aging dragons, players can use the new Dragon Pit building to evolve their uncolored, red, tan or green dragons from babies into adolescents.
Finally, the launch of this Fire & Blood expansion follows the Season 5 launch of the Game of Thrones TV show on HBO. As such, gamers can play through new quests, or purchase new items that tie into each episode of the television show, as the season progresses.
Since its release in 2013, Game of Thrones Ascent has been played by more than 10 million users, who have created over 15 million characters.
Game of Thrones Ascent is available to download for free on the iTunes App Store and Google Play. The game is also available to play for free on Facebook. The Fire & Blood update is currently live on iOS and Facebook.
