Nearly 50% of Online Holiday Shoppers Abandon Slow Websites [Infographic]

E-commerce is a booming industry that’s only getting stronger every year. This holiday season, a lot of shoppers are prepared to take to the Internet to do more of their shopping, which could put a strain on websites. An infographic from Monitis.com shows how great the strain could be, and has tips for businesses getting ready for the holiday shopping season.

Fifty-six percent of holiday shoppers plan to shop online this year; 46 percent of shoppers said that a website has to be fast and easy to use or they won’t shop there.

In fact, nearly 60 percent of shoppers said they will abandon websites that take more than three seconds to load. Improving load times by just one second could result in a 10 percent increase in sales, according to the infographic.

Mobile shopping is also projected to be big this year. More than half of shoppers plan to use mobile. Just over 35 percent of shoppers will use mobile devices to researching products, nearly 24 percent will redeem coupons, and about 19 percent plan to buy directly from mobile.
