Best Buy has apologized for the tweet in the above screenshot, which made a joke in reference to the hit podcast “Serial.” The tweet has been deleted, but not before it racked up over a thousand retweets.
We deeply apologize for our earlier tweet about Serial. It lacked good judgment and doesn’t reflect the values of our company. We are sorry.

For non-listeners of the podcast: “Serial” tells the story of the 1999 murder of high-schooler Hae Min Lee. Her ex-boyfriend, Adnan Syed, was convicted of the murder — a conviction that hinges on a key piece of testimony: that Syed called his friend from a pay phone in a Best Buy parking lot, where the prosecution claims he committed the crime. The friend testified that Syed showed him Lee’s body in the trunk of her car in Best Buy’s parking lot.
