If you're looking for a new mobile game to play this weekend, there are lots of new options available, including Maxine's Snack Attack from Hallmark and Chupamobile. The line-drawing puzzle game allows users to complete levels while reading quotes from Hallmark's opinionated character, Maxine.
Finally, Disney released Moana: Rhythm Run, a rhythm-based running game based on upcoming film Moana.
Here's a look at some of the additional mobile games that were released this week.
unWorded ($3.99 on iOS) – This puzzle game from Bento Studio follows the story of a writer who has been hospitalized after a serious accident. Players will enter the writer's subconscious, and they will need to combine letters and punctuations to create objects, which will bring back memories to the writer's mind. The game offers hints and skips if players need help completing puzzles.
Hungry Eaters (Free on iOS, Android, Windows) – This endless survival game from Kloppe Media was inspired by the game of Snake, and it challenges users to collect as much food as possible in each game without letting their character hit a wall or obstacle. In each game, the character will move forward automatically, and players can swipe to turn. Food is scattered around the environment, and as the character eats food, its body will become longer. Once its body reaches a specific length, the character will shrink back to its original size, and it will begin moving faster around the environment. If an obstacle hits the character's body (not its head), the body will lose some of its length and the game will continue. However, if something hits the character's head, the game ends. Users can collect coins as they play, which can be spent to unlock new playable characters. Users can also spend coins on upgrades for their characters. The game contains more than 80 different characters to unlock and 20 different gameplay environments.
Plantera (Free on iOS, Android) – This side-scrolling farming game from VaragtP Studios allows users to grow crops, bushes and trees, as well as raise animals such as chickens and pigs. As users play, their farms will automatically be tended by blue creatures called helpers, who will collect resources when they're ready. Users will earn coins for each resource that's collected, and the helpers will continue to collect resources (and accumulate coins for players) even when users aren't playing the game. Users can spend their coins on new plants and animals, as well as on farm expansions and other items. Finally, users will need to protect their farms from wild animals such as birds, rabbits and foxes.
Football Manager Mobile 2017 ($8.99 on iOS, Android) – This soccer management game from SEGA allows users to take charge of any club from 15 countries. Users will be able to manage the transfers, tactics and more for their teams as they play. Users will also be able to discipline and fine players for having poor behavior or performances. Finally, players will be able to hire their own scouts, appeal work permit rejections and loan players with “future buyout clauses.”
Carbon Warfare ($2.99 on iOS, Android) – This strategy simulation game from Gamesource, a division of Virtuos, allows users to destroy Earth by causing humans to generate carbon emissions and raise Earth's temperature. Users will be able to invest in industries like the oil and auto manufacturing industries, among others, and they will also be able to trigger earthquakes, tsunamis, cyclones, wildfires and more over time. Carbon Warfare includes five different scenarios to complete, each with three difficulty levels to choose from.
Oceans & Empires (Free on iOS, Android) – This kingdom-building game from Joycity allows each user to create a kingdom and defend it from the evil Empire. Users will be able to construct buildings like farms and lumber mills in their kingdoms, which will generate resources over time. Gamers can use these resources to build and upgrade structures in their kingdoms, as well as to build ships for their fleets and train soldiers for their armies. Users can also upgrade their ships over time. Players can send their ships to attack different locations on the world map, including kingdoms owned by other players. In addition, players can join alliances with other players, and alliances can compete against one another.
Little Briar Rose ($2.99 on iOS, $2.49 on Android) – This stained glass-style point-and-click adventure game from Mangatar and Elf Games Works is based on the story Little Briar Rose by the Brothers Grimm, and it asks users to help a dynasty of princes rescue a princess who has been put under a curse. Users will be able to complete a variety of puzzles and mini-games as they play.
Cube Knight: Battle of Camelot (Free on iOS, Android) – This dual-stick shooter from Bluehole challenges users to help Guinevere and other characters battle monsters on a quest to find the Holy Grail. The game's levels are played from a top-down perspective, and players can use two virtual joysticks to move their characters and aim at enemies. Specifically, the left joystick controls the character's movement, while the right joystick controls the aim of the character's weapon. Both ranged and melee weapons will fire or swing at enemies automatically. Characters will earn experience points as they defeat enemies, and players can upgrade their characters' stats and abilities as the characters level up. Users can also equip their characters with gear items in between battles. Finally, as users progress, they can construct new buildings in the kingdom of Camelot. For instance, users can construct a Weapons Shop, and they can visit the shop to purchase new weapons and upgrade their weapons.
Design Home (Free on iOS, Android) – This home decorating game from Crowdstar and Glu Mobile allows users to complete timed design challenges by adding furniture and decor items to empty rooms. For instance, one challenge may ask users to create a modern living room in a home in New York. Users can spend virtual cash and premium currency to purchase furniture and decor items for their rooms, and they can earn additional cash by entering challenges. Multiple users can enter each challenge, and when a challenge has ended, players can view the designs submitted by other users and vote on them to earn keys. Specifically, when voting on submissions, users will be presented with two user-submitted designs at a time, and they can vote for the one they like best. Players can use the keys they earn by voting to enter future challenges.
Go Rally ($4.99 on iOS) – This racing game from Chillingo and Inputwish allows users to choose from a variety of upgradeable and customizable vehicles, including muscle cars and SUVs. Players can race on 100 tracks in a career mode, and they can also challenge other users around the world to beat their best times on the game's tracks. In addition to racing on pre-made tracks, users can create their own tracks, which can contain hills, bridges, checkpoints and other elements. Users can share their tracks with other players around the world.
