Messaging App Laserthread Chatwork Launches on iOS

Laserthread has released its Laserthread Chatwork app on iOS, which looks to eliminate the need for users to use multiple apps to communicate with all of their friends. Laserthread Chatwork combines a user’s friends from multiple platforms into a single list, with support for Facebook, Twitter and Instagram.

When users connect one or more of their social media accounts to the app, the platform works to automatically populate their friends list with mutual connections. That is, if a user follows someone on Twitter, and that user follows them back, the contact would show up on their chat list. Users can expand this list to also include second degree connections.

While the app automatically places other Laserthread users at the top of the friends list, non-app users will also show up, allowing users to invite these connections to the app via social media.

In addition to private in-app chat, the app allows users to post content out to Facebook and Twitter, and offers a map so users can see their friends' current locations.

Scott Rummler, founder of Laserthread, told SocialTimes:

The problem with messengers is that they're not very social. On the other hand, social networks aren't geared toward live conversation. Laserthread solves these problems, so it's the next logical evolution beyond WhatsApp and Snapchat.

Laserthread Chatwork is available to download for $4.99 on the iTunes App Store.
