Ahead of the theatrical release of the Disney Pixar film, Inside Out, Disney Mobile Games has announced the launch of Inside Out Thought Bubbles, a mobile bubble shooter starring Riley’s emotions: Joy, Fear, Anger, Disgust and Sadness. Featuring 125 levels at launch, Inside Out Thought Bubbles was created by Where’s My Water? creator Tim FitzRandolph. The game features multiple themed areas from the film, including Family Island, Dream Productions and Imagination Land.
In each level of Inside Out Thought Bubbles, players tap and drag their finger to aim bubbles at formations at the top of the screen. Players can also tap to instantly aim and fire, but this doesn’t allow for as precise aiming.
Each level features one of Riley’s emotions, and as players unlock new characters, they can select their preferred emotion based on each one’s special ability. For instance, Joy’s power allows players to turn a large group of bubbles yellow to instantly remove them. Sadness, meanwhile, can create a line of storm clouds, potentially removing a large number of bubbles underneath it.
Each stage has a shot limit and a different goal, like clearing every bubble from the screen or shooting targets, as examples. Levels become more complicated over time, with the addition of obstacles including brain freeze bubbles.
Players earn up to three stars on each level, depending on their score, and can use power-ups during tricky stages. For instance, one power offers an aiming trajectory line for more precise shooting, while rainbow bubbles can be used as any color when the right bubble isn’t appearing naturally, and so on.
Inside Out Thought Bubbles is available to download for free on the iTunes App Store, Google Play, the Windows Phone Store, and Amazon Appstore. Non-mobile players can also download the game on the Windows Store.
