F8 Registration Now Open

F82015Logo650Facebook announced last month that it was expanding its F8 global developer conference to two days, and registration is now open for the event, to be held March 25 and 26 at Fort Mason Center in San Francisco.

The social network limits the number of tickets, but developers who are unable to attend can also register to follow F8 online, where they will be able to live-stream the keynote and other sessions, as well as gain access to exclusive content, including live interviews.

The full schedule is available online, and Facebook director of platform monetization Deborah Liu provided an overview in a post on the social network’s developer blog:

This is our largest developer conference to date, where you’ll get access to our latest tools and 1:1 time with our product experts. The two-day event will include:

All of Facebook’s developer products: F8 will include product updates and deep dives from App Links, Parse, Facebook Login, mobile application ads, Facebook Audience Network, LiveRail, video and much more.

More than 40 sessions: Attendees can expect deep technical sessions on all our developer offerings. In addition, we’ll have sessions ranging from designing better apps to earning more from your apps, and highlights from our open-source contributions.

Oculus demos: Be one of the first to experience the Oculus Rift Crescent Bay prototype and get hands-on time with the Gear VR Innovator Edition. Experience new worlds and immersive games, and start imagining how you’ll contribute to the future of virtual reality.

Panel discussions: Attend engaging panels with internal and external experts, such as the \"Future of the Communications\" panel with WhatsApp, Messenger and Instagram.

Internet.org Innovation Lab: Test your app on a 2G network connection and see how it performs in markets with lower bandwidth.

In addition to the above, we’ll also have some exciting new experiences planned. Visit the F8 website to learn more about the event and to apply. There are a limited number of tickets available to attend F8, so please apply today. If your application is accepted, your attendance will be confirmed via email, and you will be charged $495 for the registration fee.

Nancy Xiao of Parse’s developer marketing team added in a post on the Parse blog:

We have many new announcements that we’re excited to share with you, and you’ll have the chance to hear from us directly at several sessions throughout the event. Plus, don’t miss out on spending time with the team — Parse engineers will be available throughout both days to provide one-on-one help and advice. We had a blast last year meeting more than 1,500 mobile and Web developers from all over the world and can’t wait to meet even more of you this year.

Developers: Will you try to attend or live-stream F8?
