Yo-kai Watch Wibble Wobble Launches on iOS, Android

Level-5 and NHN PlayArt have launched Yo-kai Watch Wibble Wobble on mobile. Inspired by the Disney XD television series Yo-kai Watch, the puzzle battle game allows players to collect creatures called Yo-kai and take them into battle against other Yo-kai.

In each level of Yo-kai Watch Wibble Wobble, players are challenged to defeat the enemy (or enemy team) by tapping on Wib Wob symbols on the game board. These symbols represent the five Yo-kai players have taken into battle.

Tapping a single symbol causes little damage, so users are encouraged to draw lines to connect matching symbols, which makes them fuse into a larger Wib Wob symbol. Tapping these larger symbols causes more damage, and players can create attack combos by tapping multiple large symbols in rapid succession.

Players earn up to three stars after each campaign battle, with stars relating to specific objectives. That is, one star may be awarded for earning a specific number of points in the battle, while another star may be awarded for creating a large Wib Wob symbol of a certain size, as examples.

Yo-kai earn experience points as they’re used in battle, and will become stronger over time. In addition, gamers have a chance to befriend the enemies they defeat in battle, and can take them into future battles. Players also receive Y-Money as they play, and can spend this currency on the Crank-a-kai machine for a chance to receive additional Yo-kai or other items.

Elsewhere, players can spend Y-Money on food items in the shop, and can feed these items to enemy Yo-kai to make them easier to befriend after battle.

In addition to its main campaign missions, Yo-kai Watch Wibble Wobble offers timed event missions, as well as a Score Attack mode, which challenges players to earn as many points as possible during a timed battle. In these timed battles, players earn bonus time when they defeat a wave of enemies.

Yo-kai Watch Wibble Wobble is available to download for free on the iTunes App Store and Google Play.
