It looks like Facebook motivated a lot of people to register to vote

All it took was four days in September for Facebook to spark a massive increase in voter registration.


From Sept. 23 to 26, a Facebook reminder at the top of your News Feed read, "Are you registered to vote? Register now to make sure you have a voice in the election.” This was paired with a "Register Now" button, which redirected Facebook users to vote.usa.gov. The feature also allowed Facebook users to share that they registered. 



The results of the initiative are in, and there's an overwhelming correlation between the dates of Facebook's initiative and the actual number of people who registered to vote during that time. Read more...
