Thirstie Secures $1.1M to Expand Mobile On-Demand Alcohol Delivery Platform

Thirstie

Thirstie, an on-demand alcohol delivery service, has announced it has secured $1.1 million in seed funding from private investors. The service, which has already launched in major markets including Los Angeles, Miami and New York City (among others), will use the funding to launch its platform in even more cities, increase its user acquisition, and enhance its overall product. So far, more than 100 liquor retailers have partnered with Thirstie.

With Thirstie, users browse or search for bottles (or drink recipes), and can order alcohol from within the app. After entering their information, the closest supported liquor merchant takes care of the order with free delivery expected within an hour. Alongside this funding announcement, the service has also launched in a new market: Austin, Texas.

To celebrate the launch in Austin, and the SXSW festival, the company has released an Austin microsite, allowing users to find suggestions for local, social drinking ideas, or cocktails created with \"distinctively local flavors,\" as well as tips from Austin-based bartenders and on-demand delivery options. Additional microsites will be launched in the future by the Thirstie editorial team.

Devaraj Southworth, CEO and co-founder of Thirstie, said in a statement:

Thirstie is meeting the increasing surge for on-demand services with a fast and user-friendly platform and experience that no other real-time delivery provider can match. By launching with $100K, we’ve demonstrated that we are a top player and ready to \"hold our own\" in the same conversation with competitors who have been aggressively spending investors’ capital before proving their model. Our objective from day one has been capital conservation. Now, with this new round of capital and our strategy fully validated, it’s go-time.

Thirstie is available to download on the iTunes App Store and Google Play.
