Gone Launches Nationwide for Users to Sell Unwanted Items

Gone

Gone, an online selling app, has launched nationwide, following a launch in Austin and San Francisco last June. The app helps users easily sell items they no longer need, with this new version of the app offering two different services: Gone On-Demand and Gone Lite.

With the new Gone Lite, users take a picture or video of their item, and add a description. Gone then prices the item and makes an offer to the seller. If the seller accepts, Gone sends a prepaid shipping box to the user for the item. After Gone receives the product, it’s inspected and sold in \"the right marketplace to get the best price.\" When the item is sold, users receive their credit, which can be cashed out for a check or turned into an Amazon Gift Card.

Gone On-Demand offers a nearly identical experience, but allows users in Austin and San Francisco (and soon New York City and Seattle) to skip the shipping and have a Gone representative pick up the item(s) at their home.

The newest version of Gone also offers email integration with Slice, which allows users to keep track of the changing market value of recently purchased items (among other features).

Gone is available to download for free on the iTunes App Store, and is coming soon to Google Play.
