Fotomoji Turns Photos Into Emoji Art on iOS

Second Verse has announced the release of Fotomoji on iOS.

The photography app transforms users’ photos into emoji art using emoji matching the colors of the original pictures.

With Fotomoji, users can import images from their camera roll, or take new pictures within the app. When processing an image, the app recreates the photo using emoji of different sizes and colors to match the original source.

By default, the app uses multiple kinds of emoji when recreating an image, but users can also select from 11 single emoji if they’d like their project to only contain a single one (like a heart or smiling face, as examples). In this case, the selected emoji is automatically recolored to match the original photo. Additional options allow users to change the image’s brightness and contrast, change the density of emoji used in the project and more.

Users can share their finished emoji art to social media, or save pictures to their camera roll.

Fotomoji is available to download for free on the iTunes App Store.
