Publisher tinyBuild has announced the release of Dungelot: Shattered Lands on iOS. Developed by Red Winter, the roguelike dungeon-crawler is the third game in the Dungelot series, and sees players defeat enemies as they explore randomly-generated dungeons.
Dungelot: Shattered Lands asks players to collect the golden key on each floor of a dungeon in order to move to the next floor. Gameplay sees players tap on tiles to uncover any objects or enemies underneath. Objects include helpful items like bombs and coins, as examples, as well as the golden key. When players uncover enemies, these enemies may block access to other tiles in the dungeon until they are defeated.
Once players collect a golden key, they can choose to move to the next floor of a dungeon, even if they've yet to defeat all of the floor's enemies, or clear all of its tiles. However, when players come across bosses, these must be defeated before they can progress.
Players will need to keep track of their hero’s health, hunger and morale as they explore dungeons. A good morale gives players the chance for an extra strike during battle, while a poor morale will cause the hero to sometimes skip their turn. Players can find objects underneath tiles which may impact their morale.
As players explore dungeons, they may come across safe floors, which allow them to rest and restore some of their hero’s health, or purchase objects from a shop. In addition, some floors may contain mini-games, while others include special events which give players a choice for how to progress. These events are separate from the actual dungeon floors, and may help or hurt players, depending on the outcome.
While players begin with a single hero, they can unlock three additional heroes over time, each with their own play style. In total, the game offers 18 dungeons to clear and three worlds to explore. When players clear each world, they unlock its endless dungeon for unlimited gameplay.
Dungelot: Shattered Lands is available to download for $3.99 on the iTunes App Store. The game is coming soon to Steam.
