NBC News experienced the Facebook video boom firsthand, as a video it posted Tuesday had been viewed nearly 7 million times at the time of this post.
The video was the first installment of a three-part series on NBC Nightly News, in which Kate Snow focused on transgender children.
Part one features Mimi and Joe Lemay, parents of a baby born as a girl in 2010, who began declaring, \"I’m a boy,\" by age two, and who is now five-year-old Jacob.
At the time of this post, the video had tallied more than 105,000 likes, more than 104,000 shares and nearly 100,000 comments.
